Your brain is not only one of the most important organs in the human body; it is also the most complex. This three-pound organ is the seat of intelligence, interpreter of the senses, initiator of body movement, and controller of behavior. The brain is the source of all the qualities that define our humanity. The brain is the crown jewel of the human body.

Ways to protect your brain:

  • Protect your brain from physical trauma some of the injuries to your brain can occur due to head trauma. Head trauma can result from blows to the head, which damage brain tissue, blood vessels, nerves or other areas of the brain. Many accidents cannot be prevented, but you can do things to reduce the likelihood of sustaining brain trauma.

  • Use helmets and seatbelts

  • Not abusing drugs or alcohol

  • Rejecting physical, emotional, or sexual abuse

  • Expecting and accepting R-E-S-P-E-C-T

  • Giving R-E-S-P-E-C-T to yourself and others

  • Stress Reduction

It is important to practice Stress Reduction to enhance your quality of life, and protect your brain. Stress Reduction starts with identifying the sources of stress in your life. Stress can be very harmful. Stress can affect your body, mood, and behavior. It is important to identify your stressors to help combat symptoms that may occur. Below are some of the symptoms that are indicators of too much pressure that can come from you, school, or home. Behavior and feelings that may be indicative of stress:
