NUTRITION & HEALTH

The Problem

The lack of healthy food choices in public school cafeterias have, in the past, been the blame for poor nutrition habits amongst students. High disease rates in lower income neighborhoods have been blamed on lack of accessibility and resources to adequately lead healthy lifestyles. Furthermore, growing childhood obesity rates calls for immediate action to teach healthy living habits early.

Our Solution

The S.E.N.S.E.S. program provides participants with alternative lunch time options that are more nutritious then their served school lunch counterpart. In addition, light exercise is included into our lesson plans. Furthermore, the nutrition teaching module advocates regular exercise, healthy eating habits and warns against the dangers of an un-healthy lifestyle. We also examine the vital functions of the body and how the body can be conditioned to work for your favor.
